1390    Robert III becomes King.
1390    The Wolf of Badenoch burns Elgin Cathedral down.
1400    Henry IV of England invades and retreats
1406    James I becomes King. but is imprisoned in England.
1413     The University of St Andrews is founded.
1424    James I is freed and returns to Scotland.
1426    All laws other than the kings are abolished.
1431    Bubonic plague in Edinburgh.
1437    James I is assassinated. James II becomes King.
1438    Warfare breaks out among the nobility.
1440    The Black Dinner.
1451    The University of Glasgow is founded.
1457    Parliament tries to ban football and golf.
1460    James II is killed by accident with a cannon.
1460    James III becomes King.
1468    The pledging of Orkney and Shetland,
1468   James III marries Margaret of Denmark.
1474    Marriage treaty and truce with England.
1478    Blind Harrys Wallace appears.
1481    War with England.
1488    Rebellion, death of James III,
1488    James IV becomes King.
1494    Exchequer rolls gives its first reference to whisky production.
1495    The University of Aberdeen is founded.
