Dunstaffnage Castle and Chapel  (MAP LINK)

Join us for medieval weekend at Dunstaffnage Castle and hear about the tumultuous events between the powerful Bruce and Macdougall families that led to the creation of one of the most powerful clans in Scotland, the Campbells.

The event is included in the admission price. We’d recommend booking in advance to guarantee entry.

The Medieval encampment will be open throughout the afternoon. Come and learn about the different aspects of Medieval life.

Here’s what’s happening at Dunstaffnage Castle on Saturday and Sunday:

12.30pm – Dress the knight and weapon display

See how knights prepared for battle and learn about the armour and equipment they used

1.30pm – Kid’s army

Join forces with the local MacDougall clan as they attack Robert the Bruce as he flees to the Highlands following defeat at the Battle of Methven

2.30pm – Siege of Dunstaffnage Castle

Robert the Bruce lays siege to Dunstaffnage Castle and battles it out with the MacDougalls

3.30pm – Kings Court
